NBA official announces Best of the Week: Jokic is re-elected for the first time by Johnson, Curry, Doncic and Harden are nominated

On November 18, the NBA officially announced the Player of the Week for Week 4. Nuggets star Jokic and Hawks star Jaylen Johnson were respectively elected. This is the 19th time in Jokic's career that he has been selected as the best player of the week, and it is also the second time this season that he has won this award for two consecutive weeks. This is the first time in his career that Jaylen Johnson has been named Player of the Week. Curry, Doncic, Harden and other stars were nominated.

Western Conference Player of the Week: Jokic

After becoming the Western Conference Player of the Week last week, Jokic won the honor again this week. Being the Player of the Week 19 times in his career also allowed Jokic to continue to rank first in the history of the Nuggets. In an away game against the Los Angeles Clippers on January 13, he had his best performance of the season. In 34 minutes, he made 18 of 23 shots, 5 of 6 three-pointers, and 14 of 16 free throws. He scored 55 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. He became the first player to score 52 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists before the start of the fourth quarter since the league began recording detailed technical statistics in the 1997-98 season. He was also the first player to score 90+ points with a field goal percentage of over 80% in two days. In the final game of the week,

on November 16, he played away against the Timberwolves. He made 8 of 15 shots, 3 of 6 three-pointers, and 8 of 8 free throws. He contributed 27 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block, achieving the 171st triple-double of his career.

So far this season, he has averaged 34.2 minutes per game, 28.7 points, 13.0 rebounds, 10.9 assists and 1.8 steals, shooting 67.2% from the field and 42.6% from the three-point range. He leads the league with seven triple-doubles, more than the next three players combined. At the same time, he also ranked first in the league in assists and rebounds, fifth in field goal percentage, and eighth in scoring.

Eastern Conference Player of the Week: Johnson

Johnson became the Player of the Week for the first time in his career. In four games last week, Johnson averaged 34.8 minutes per game, scoring 24.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 2.5 steals. He shot 60.3% from the field, 57.1% from the three-point range and 78.3% from the free throw line. He led the Hawks to complete four consecutive Western Conference away games. This was the first time since the 1970-71 season that the team had maintained a complete victory in at least four Western Conference road trips.

In this week's first game, Johnson led the Hawks to defeat the Clippers. He played 35 minutes and scored a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, plus 8 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.

In the victory over the Kings on November 13, Johnson played only 24 minutes, made 9 of 10 shots, and contributed 24 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 1 steal. According to Elias Sports statistics, he became the first player in the NBA this season to score at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in less than 25 minutes. He was also the second player in league history to achieve this achievement with a shooting percentage of no less than 90% (the other was Dedmon, on November 15, 2017).

In defeating the Jazz in the second back-to-back game on November 14, Johnson made a historic performance: 10 of 20 shots (4 of 5 three-pointers, 7 of 11 free throws), a career-high 31 points, and a career-high 18 rebounds, 14 assists and 7 steals. He became the first player in the NBA to score at least 31 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists and 7 steals in a single game since steals became an official statistic in the 1973-74 season. He was also the seventh player in league history to record a triple-double of 30 points and 7 steals.

In the victory over the Suns on November 17, Johnson played 39 minutes, made 9 of 13 shots (2 of 3 three-pointers, 5 of 6 free throws), and contributed 25 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal. This was Johnson's third consecutive game with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. He also helped the Hawks complete the biggest reversal in team history - with 9 minutes and 50 seconds left in the game, the team fell behind 81-103 by 22 points, and then went on a 19-0 offensive climax from 8:21 to 4:34 in the fourth quarter. Finally, they went ahead with a score of 43-19 in the remaining games, winning their fourth victory this week and five consecutive victories.
