A Smith said Irving was underpriced! Irving: Players can also comment on the media. You are not worthy of that contract

Basketball

July 12th, Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving responded to host A-Smith's evaluation of his contract extension. He said that if A-Smith has the right to comment on the salary of NBA players, then players should also have the right to evaluate the salary of these news media:

"I also want to discuss his contract. If I want me to evaluate his contract, I will say: 'I don't think you are worth the contract.'"

A-Smith recently participated in ESPN program and said that Irving's salary was "lowered". He believes that under the current NBA market conditions , Irving should get a higher salary: "In today's market conditions, ordinary players can get $55 million to $60 million. Can't you give this guy an annual salary of at least $43 million to $45 million? Don't forget that he didn't have the option of a player, but his annual salary was still around $43 million. So, in my opinion, a contract of $119 million is a little less than 40 million a year. Kyrie Irving should get more."

This summer, Kyrie Irving signed a three-year, $119 million new contract with the Mavericks, an average of nearly $40 million a year.

In March this year, A-Smith signed a five-year, $100 million contract extension with ESPN.
