On May 24, The Sun reported that Real Madrid superstar Modric spent 1.1 million pounds to buy a luxury house in the suburbs of Swansea, which triggered crazy speculation from fans.

According to reliable sources, the Golden Globe winner bought a five-bedroom estate in Swansea. Modric, 39, was witnessed by sighting the property, and his arrival immediately became a hot topic in the wealthy area. He had just confirmed his departure from Real Madrid, which made Swansea fans excitedly speculate that he might join the Championship team.

A neighbor said: "Swansea rarely welcomes members of the Galaxy Battleship, and it was a surprise to see him appear at our doorstep. This mansion near the beach is great, and I believe he will enjoy exploring the Gole Peninsula and local restaurants. Although our nightclubs are not as luxurious as Madrid, there are many warm bars to welcome him."

Modric bought a mansion with a billiard room from former Swansea player Leon Britton, which was listed for sale in 2017.

It is reported that Modric still holds a £10.1 million residence in Madrid, but after becoming a minor shareholder in Swansea last month, he decided to build a personal base in Wales, with his house very close to the Swansea training ground. Neither Modric nor Britton responded to the Sun's request for comment.
