Miracle overtaking! Ireland overtakes Hungary and will enter the World Cup qualifying play-offs after 2018
Hupu News November 17th: In the World Cup European qualifiers, Ireland made a last-minute kill in the injury time of the last round, beating Hungary 3-2 and overtaking their opponents to advance to the European play-offs.
They will also compete in the World Cup preliminaries play-offs again since 2018.
In 2018, they drew Denmark in the intra-European play-offs, and ultimately lost 1-5 in two rounds and missed the World Cup. In fact, the last time they qualified for the World Cup through play-offs was back in 2002, when they qualified for the intercontinental play-offs and eliminated Iran 2-1 in two rounds to advance.
