Kane: I hope England develops a set-piece playbook Tuchel is the reason I chose Bayern

Football

November 16th: Kane hopes that the England team can develop a set-piece "tactics manual" like the NFL.

Kane said: "I know set pieces are not the most exciting part of the game, but we have always attached great importance to set pieces, whether it is defense or offense. I feel that we have established some very good tactical systems on offense."

"There is not much time to practice during the game. But we hope to develop a set piece playbook. You want to have something like an NFL playbook. You can observe the opponent and see whether they use zone defense or man-to-man defense."

"We can choose the tactics we want to adopt and in the end, the team that plays best at set-pieces is usually the best team in the tournament. It's clear that players like Rice can deliver perfect crosses because they do it every week for their respective clubs."

Coach Tuchel said in September that he could turn England into the "mad gang" of Wimbledon by changing tactics, such as using long throw-ins and powerful shots, to win the world championship.

Kane said: "Our defensive record is also very good. The meeting with Paul Quilter (set-piece analyst) and Anthony Barry (assistant coach) will be very important, and they will discuss the details in detail."

"The key is whether the boys can accept this mentally, and hopefully by the summer, we will have a variety of effective set-piece tactics."

Kane believes that the England team is completely different from the confused state 12 months ago.

Kane said: "This is a lot better than where we were last year. We went through a transition period last year with a new coach and Lee Carsley as interim coach. So maybe there is a little excuse."

Kane also talked about his close relationship with Tuchel He said: "He is the main reason why I finally chose to join Bayern. I like his energy and the tactical concepts he wants to achieve."

"After he got the job, he regarded me as an important leader in the team and someone who can help him in many ways."
