DO Exclusive: Leeds United visa-free former Everton striker Lewin, but he has to pass the medical examination first
Hupu August 13th, TheAthleticUK ace reporter David Ornstein exclusive report, after Dominic Calvert Lewin left Everton, Leeds United had reached an agreement with him in principle to sign him as a free agent.
The 28-year-old striker is about to undergo a medical examination at Leeds United base to complete the transfer.
Calvert Lewin has been in free agent status since he confirmed his contract expires in June this year to leave the Merseyside club as a free agent.
In 2016, he moved from Sheffield United to Everton and played for nine years. He made 274 appearances for Everton and scored 71 goals, but was troubled by injuries during his time.
Everton offered the striker a new contract this summer, but ultimately failed to reach an agreement.
The striker will be the eighth player the West Yorkshire club will return to the Premier League after winning the English Championship last season and sign this summer. Another striker they signed was Lucas Enmecha from Wolfsburg, Bundesliga.
Calvert Lewin has played 11 times for England and scored 4 goals, but his last appearance for the national team was in 2021.
