Currently, the main stadium of the Reds Youth Base will be built with a dome - connected to the existing youth training camp building - which will provide the first full-size indoor stadium ever for use. In addition, the base will also build a new outdoor court in natural turf and be equipped with a stand that can accommodate 500 spectators, creating a brand new outdoor competition center. Future transformation also includes comprehensive upgrades to medical rehabilitation and sports science facilities to better support the development of young players. Liverpool plans to formally submit planning applications at the appropriate time, and all projects are expected to be completed in 2028.

Liverpool Youth Training Director Alex Ingerthorp said: "This is a major statement. In recent years, the club has successfully promoted several infrastructure projects, including the renovation of the two stands at Anfield Stadium, the completion of the AXA training center, and the transformation of the Melwood base for women's football. As the youth training system, we have always been patient and clear about our position in the club. Now it is our turn to upgrade - which is extremely exciting."

"We will have a full-size indoor training ground for the first time, which will put us on the same conditions as many competitors. Although I always believe that Kirkby's windy and rainy can temper the will of the players, it was indeed often forced to cancel training or reduce the quality of training due to the weather. This renovation will completely change this situation."

This round of renovation was promoted based on the upgrade of the youth training base. Currently, there are cage courts dedicated to small games, physical fitness development areas, technical training areas, and Pador Court (a new venue that combines multiple sports elements) that can perform various sports such as football, tennis, volleyball and squash. In addition, the newly built flood lighting system ensures that all sites can be used at night.

Ingerthorp pointed out: "We have benefited from the projects completed this summer. It is crucial to let young players and their families see these investments. We are continuing to work on evaluation and innovation - children are coming here to train four times a week since the age of six. We must not lose their enthusiasm for football, we must constantly find ways to make them truly yearn for it. Both Pador and cage stadiums have played an important role."

This systematic transformation plan originated from the extensive research conducted by the club in Europe. Julian Ward, technical director of Fenway Sports Group, visited more than 25 European clubs to collect information and learn excellent practical cases, and finally formulated the largest upgrade blueprint since the opening of Kirkbee Youth Training Base in 1998.

Ingersoll added: "Julian and I have known each other for 13 years. His return not only brings rich expertise, but also based on his deep understanding of us. He has had a very positive impact on the youth training system and has given us great support in infrastructure planning."

"The standards of youth training have been greatly improved. Looking at the composition of the first team now, compared with ten years ago, the quality of players and the depth of the lineup have made a qualitative leap. This is naturally a greater challenge for the youth training base, but we are willing to accept it. Our mission is always to cultivate players who can compete for the highest honor for the first team, and this investment will significantly help us achieve this goal."
