Wizards win 1 and 3 rating A? In the past four years, 11 first-round picks have been hoarded, with an average age of 20.8 for the 13-man roster
On July 9, the Spurs completed a deal with the Wizards, who sent 34-year-old veteran Olynick to the Spurs for Branham, Wesley, and the 2026 second-round pick (from the Mavericks, 76ers and the Thunder with the one with the lowest pick).
Branham won the Wizards in this transaction with the 20th pick in the first round of 2022, only 22 years old this year; Wesley was the 25th pick in the first round of 2022, and he was only 22 years old this year. In other words, the Wizards are still hoarding their first round talents. (Previously, they got the 21-year-old Whitmore in a three-party deal with the Rockets and the Pelicans)
Then the American media Back To The Basket rated the deal, and the Wizards got an A, while the Spurs only got a C, because the Spurs used their second round picks to exchange for a veteran center.
Wizards Media wrote: After the deal was concluded, we have stockpiled 11 first-round picks: Branham, Wesley, Cooley Barry, Whitmore, Saar, Carrington, George, AJ Johnson, Dillon Jones, Trae Johnson, Will Riley.
Previously, the US media showed that the average age of the 11 Wizards was 20.6 years old. Now, the average age of two 22-year-old first-round picks, Branham and Wesley, is only 20.8 years old. It has to be said that the age structure of this Wizards is a pure youth storm.
Currently, the Lakers are also interested in the 31-year-old veteran defender Smart. If another young man can be exchanged for the Lakers, then this Wizards will be completely youth storm in the new season. The oldest in the team are currently McCollum and Middleton at the age of 34.
There is a question that there are too many young people in the Wizards. How should the Wizards arrange this rotation time in the new season? Can the White Demon exchanged from the Rockets have stable rotation time?
