Mazzula: Didn’t guard against the long-range shot at the end of the quarter, and now have won two games less than expected

Basketball

Hupu, November 15th: Celtics head coach Joe Mazzula was interviewed by the media and talked about the buzzer-beating three-pointer hit by 76ers player Quentin Grimes against the team.

In the previous game between the Celtics and the 76ers, Quentin Grimes hit a three-pointer at the buzzer before the end of the third quarter.

"Tight games can make or break a team, but the key to victory or defeat is not just the last 10 rounds." Joe Mazzula said in the interview.

"Now the rules have changed. The long-range shot at the end of each quarter has become as important as the last attack of the game, because it can determine the outcome of the game."

"So we must guard against those long-range shots at the end of the quarter as well as the last attack. In the last game, we let Cedric Coward play when no one was guarding him. One shot was made, but he didn't make it. We didn't do a good job in this regard, which is one of our problems, because every round is important."

When talking about the team, Joe Mazzula said: "We have won two games less than expected."

The Celtics currently rank 11th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 6 wins and 7 losses.
