James: Ensure to enter training camp with close to 100% status. It would be incredible if you can play on the same stage with Bryce.

On June 17, while preparing to start his 23rd NBA season, Lakers superstar LeBron James accepted an exclusive interview with the Associated Press. He said his first priority is to get his left knee back to health in time before training camp begins. James, 40, revealed that he currently feels "good" in his knee since he suffered a sprain in the final game of the fifth game of the first round of the playoffs in April. He stressed that maintaining his physical condition is still the key to maintaining his top competitive level.

"I have plenty of time to deal with injuries and knee problems, condition the rest of my body, and make sure that I am as close to 100% as possible when the training camp starts in late September."

James admitted that he still enjoys daily high-intensity training and never loses his desire for competition. The main motivation for his continued progress is to his wife Savanna and three children - the eldest son Brownie also plays for the Lakers, who longs for the opportunity to compete with his son; the second son Bryce is about to start his college career at the University of Arizona; and the youngest daughter Julie is chasing her dream of volleyball, which has inspired him.

James has a player option worth over $56.2 million next season. He mentioned that the children never put pressure on him to end his career, which was the most gratifying thing for him.

"They will say, 'Dad, keep chasing your dream. This is your dream, focus on it. You have always paid for us.' When you have such support... everything has become much easier."

2024-25 season, James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game, and was selected for the second team of the NBA All-Squad. Although he knows that the legendary career will eventually come to an end, he has not yet determined the specific time. If he can persist until Bryce is qualified for the draft in 2026, he thinks it will be "incredible".

"At this stage of my career, it is normal to think about the end of the day," he said. "Will you think, is this year over? Or next year? These ideas will always come quietly at this stage. But I have not set a specific schedule or date for it, and I am also observing feedback from my body and family."
