Hachimura s substitution for Collins, will it improve the Lakers?

Basketball

According to Lakers Anthony Irwin, the team has long admired John Collins and has negotiated several times with the Jazz about this, and Hachimura is the core bargaining chip for Pelinka's offer. This summer, Collins has one year and 26 million contract (player option) and Hachimura Shizuo has one year and 17 million contract. From the perspective of trading matching, the Lakers also have to put a player in, and the ideal result is Claybear.

The question is: Will Hachimura's substitution for Collins improve the Lakers?

For this, we can look at it from three aspects:

First, Collins is 206 in height and Hachimura Hachimaru is 203 in height. Both are mainly focused on the fourth position, obviously the former has more height advantages. As shown in the figure below, the Lakers' most efficient winning team is James, Finney Smith, Doncic, Hachimura and Reeves' five small lineups - 108 minutes on the court, with a net victory of 18.6 points in 100 rounds.

In other words, the taller Collins can make Redick's five-squad more diversified. For example, when encountering the tall Timberwolves, the Lakers will not suffer as much as they did in the playoffs.

Second second, Collins averaged 16.0 points and 8.1 rebounds per game so far in his NBA career, while Hachimura averaged 12.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. In fact, not only does the data dominate Collins also dominate in offensive skills and ending methods.

Planning comparison:

1. Collins made 114 shots with 219 breakthroughs, with a shooting rate of 57.1%;

2. Hachimura made 79 shots with 148 breakthroughs, with a shooting rate of 41.8%.

Faceful singles:

1. Collins has 101 rounds, and the efficiency of 1.09 points/round is better than 88.2% of the league's players;

2. Hachimura has 20 rounds, and the efficiency of 0.92 points/round is better than 57.2% of the league's players.

It is true that having "Dong Zhan" does not require other Lakers players to end up holding on. But "having" is better than "not". I mean, always keep the players on the court, so that Dong Zhan will not be selected to be in the offensive stagnant state after the game.

To put it more, there is almost no difference between Collins and Hachimura Hiraki - the former has a mid-range shooting rate of 43.8% and a three-point shooting rate of 36.3%, while the latter has a mid-range shooting rate of 44.8% and a three-point shooting rate of 38.1%.

Third, as the "Eagle King" of Trae Young, Corinth has better athletic ability than Hachimura Hiroshi.

horizontal movement:

1, Corinth's average movement speed is 4.29;

2, Hachimura's value is 3.78.

Two reference players, Dalong Fox 4.31, Wenban Yama 4.18. Obviously, Collins not only has the maneuverability of the inside elite level, but also has little difference compared to the small defenders.

Athletic ability:

1. 93 of Collins' 531 sports goals came from all-time catches and dunks;

2. 61 of Hachimura's 576 sports goals came from all-time catches and dunks.

Collins' better athletic ability, bringing more stable and eye-catching ending at the basket. To put it bluntly, dunks and all-receiveds are definitely more exciting than layups.

Defensive end, the two can be said to be "half-pound" - the real positive and negative value of Collins' career defense -0.5, and the Hachimura Hiroshita's value -1.1. Basically, they have no defensive deterrence, but Collins is relatively better under the premise of higher height, more athletic ability and more mobility, and there is a possibility that they will be trained to a midstream level.

In summary, with more height advantages, better investment and athletic ability, the Lakers' use of Hachimura as the main body to exchange Collins will improve the team.

Finally, for this potential deal, I still think the Lakers are worth it.
