Eagles rumor: Bill Simmons expects Antetokounmpo to make a big deal with Trae Young

Basketball

Bill Simmons believes the Atlanta Hawks may be involved in the deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer.

After another playoff playoff elimination, the Atlanta Hawks are currently looking for ways to strengthen the roster in the offseason. Despite rumors, Trae Young will likely stay with the Atlanta Hawks at least next season as the team is working to build a competitive roster around him.

Recently, The Ringer's Bill Simmons came up with a shocking trade idea, with the Hawks getting Milwaukee Bucks superstar, trade candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo.

"I was asked because he had heard some of the things we did on different podcasts about Giannis and he said, 'Why didn't Atlanta appear in Giannis' discussion?' I was like, what do you mean? He said, 'Well, Jaylen Johnson is great, he's on their team.' He just got hurt and everyone forgot that he didn't play in the second half of the year, but as a core player, he's already on the court," Simmons said. "They don't have the next few draft picks, but there are draft picks afterwards. For them, combining things, basically combining Trey and Giannis and keeping Giannis in the East, which is easy."

An interesting idea for the Hawks

, Giannis Antetokounmpo, in theory, is the perfect partner of Tray Young, who can torture the opponent's defense at the basket and make up for Young's shortcomings on the defensive end.

For Hawks fans, parting ways with Jaylen Johnson would be an unacceptable blow, and if Johnson had not been injured last year, he might have been selected for the All-Star lineup. But of course, this is likely to be the price of getting Antetokounmpo, the top three in the world.

As Simmons said, the Hawks don't have their own draft pick this year, but they have the No. 13 pick due to their previous deal with the Sacramento Kings, which would almost certainly be obtained by the Bucks if Antetokounmpo's trade was successful.

Although it is unlikely to achieve any goal in this regard, it is still the time for the teams that no longer enter the playoffs to start dreaming.
