On May 22, the NBA officially announced another annual grand prize. Thunder star Shea Gilgers Alexander defeated Jokic and Antetokounmpo and won the 2024-25 regular season MVP, and Alexander won the MVP record in MVP. The Thunder official posted a poster to congratulate him.

Alexander and Jokic won all 100 first and second votes, with Jokic 29 first and 71 second votes, a total of 787 points; Antetokounmpo 88 third and 9 fourth votes, a total of 470 points.
Tatum had 11 third votes in total, Mitchell had 74 points, James won 1 fourth vote and 13 fifth votes, a total of 16 points; Cunningham and Edwards both had 12 points, Curry had 2 fifth votes, and Brunson, Harden and Mobley were all 1 point.
Players play (at least 65 games), personal performance and team record are important criteria for MVP selection. MVP is the annual award awarded by the NBA for players who have performed outstandingly this season. In December 2022, the regular season MVP award was officially named the Michael Jordan Award.
Alexander played 76 regular season games this season, averaging 32.7 points, 5 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 1 block per game, ranking first in the league, 20+ in 75 games, 30+ in 49 games, 40+ in 13 games, and 50+ in 4 games, and was ranked fourth in the league in steals per game, leading the Thunder to the best record in team history with 68 wins and 14 losses, ranking first in the West, and such a record is also the best in the league.
Jokic played 70 games, averaging 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks, the Nuggets ranked fourth in the Western Conference with 50 wins and 32 losses; Antetokounmpo played 67 games, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals, 1.2 blocks, and the Bucks ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference with 48 wins and 32 losses.
