This season is expected to earn more than 500 million euros! Inter Milan is expected to make its first profit in decades

Football

May 11th After Inter Milan reached the Champions League final, Italian media calcioefinanza said that its outstanding record has driven the club's financial situation to improve, and the Nerazzurri may achieve real profit at the end of the season for the first time since 1995.

This is the seventh time in Inter Milan has entered the Champions League final. They have won three championships and lost three times. Compared with the 2022-23 Champions League, the situation this year is different. Two years ago, Inter Milan performed well in the Champions League group stage, but the knockout stage was relatively easy. This year, they ranked fourth in the Champions League stage and then defeated strong teams such as Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the knockout round, showing stronger strength and confidence.

In addition, Inter Milan's performance in the league has also improved and is still competing for the Serie A championship. Two years ago, they retired from the championship ranks early in the league.

These achievements not only boosted the morale of the team, but also brought huge economic benefits to the club. Thanks to the new Champions League system, Inter Milan is expected to receive at least 132 million euros from UEFA, setting a record for Italian clubs, surpassing Juventus' 110 million euros in 2016-17 and Inter Milan's 101 million euros in 2022-23.

In addition, the prize money for the Club World Cup is at least 20 million euros. If you can qualify in the group, it may increase to 30 million to 40 million euros. These revenues will be reflected in the financial report on June 30, 2025; the revenue in the subsequent stage will be included in the financial report for 2026.

Serie A TV broadcasting share is about 90 million euros; in terms of ticket revenue, Inter Milan has also set the highest single-game box office record in Italian football history this season:

-The ticket revenue for the Champions League semi-finals against Barcelona reached 14.7 million euros;

-The ticket revenue for the derby match against AC Milan in the Serie A reached 7.6 million euros;

-The ticket revenue for the Italian Cup semi-finals against AC Milan reached 5.8 million euros.

In these three games alone, plus the Champions League quarter-finals home match against Bayern Munich and Serie A vs. Juventus, Inter Milan received 45 million euros in ticket revenue. This will allow them to break their €79 million single-season ticket revenue record set in the 2022-23 season.

Including these, Inter Milan's operating income is expected to exceed 500 million euros this season, an increase of at least 5% from 473 million euros last season, which will be the highest record in club history.

It is worth mentioning that in Italy, only Juventus had previously earned more than 500 million euros in one season, which occurred between the four seasons of 2016-17 and 2019-20.

Powered by these revenues, Inter Milan could achieve its first real profit in decades this season. Inter Milan has been losing money since Morati took over in 1995. Although there was a profit of 33.2 million euros in the 2013-14 season, this was mainly due to the refinancing operations organized by Goldman Sachs, which generated a book profit of 139 million euros, which was not a practical profit.

However, even if Inter Milan has revenues of more than 500 million euros, it cannot enter the top ten in Europe. For example, in the 2023-24 season, the top three were:

-Real Madrid, with revenue of 1.08 billion euros;

-Manchester City, with revenue of 1.014 billion euros;

-Paris Saint-Germain, with revenue of 989 million euros;

-Tottenham Hotspur (10th place), with revenue of 720 million euros.

Inter Milan still needs to face debt problems this season. With the Oaktree Fund taking over, the club's debt situation has improved, but a debt of 415 million will still be processed.

Overall, Inter Milan is moving in a better direction with the efforts of the management and coaching team. Following its second star last year, Inter Milan has the potential to create glory again this season and even win a fourth Champions League trophy.
