October 15th Today marks the 15th anniversary of Fenway Sports Group’s acquisition of Liverpool FC. John Henry, Tom Werner and Mike Gordon jointly delivered a special speech on the club’s official website.

Fenway Sports Group said:

When we first became involved with Liverpool, we knew we were becoming part of an extraordinary legend. We looked forward to restoring this palace with rich history to its past glory, but at that time we never dared to imagine what a magnificent picture would unfold in the next fifteen years.

Our ambition has always been clear: to return victory to Anfield and ensure the long-term health of this great club. We are fully aware of our responsibilities as guardians and strive to fulfill this commitment at all times. We understand how daunting the challenge is, and we firmly believe that as long as we work together, we will unleash unlimited potential.

Looking back, this has been more than just a journey, it has been an extraordinary adventure that we as owners have been privileged to be a part of. Two Premier League trophies, one won by Klopp and one won by Slott, as well as the Champions League, are obvious milestones. The moment we finally lifted the league trophy in front of our fans at Anfield earlier this year will always be etched in my mind.

But there are many equally precious memories. Sir Dalglish led us to win our first championship in 2012, we were crowned world champions in 2019, we won the domestic cup double in 2022, we won the League Cup final in 2024, and during the coaching period of Matt Beard, the women's football team won consecutive Women's Super League titles in 2013 and 2014. Every moment speaks to the spiritual core of this club: faith, unity, enthusiasm and passion.

Of course, we have also experienced difficult moments, including failure in the finals, regrets about the slightest difference, and mistakes in off-field decision-making. We face these lessons and grow from them, and all decisions are always based on the long-term interests of the club.

We are now proud of the club's growth in all aspects. The men's football team has a world-class training environment, the women's football team has returned to Melwood to inherit its history, and the transformation of Anfield Stadium from the main stand to the new Anfield Road Stand has always retained its unique soul.

We would also like to pay tribute to all the leaders at Liverpool, both on and off the pitch, whose wisdom and dedication are the cornerstone of all our achievements.

Liverpool Football Club means so much to so many people and we will always remember it. This club is woven into the blood of the city and beyond, connecting generations of fans and the community in a unique way. Being part of this legend is both a privilege and a responsibility we will never take lightly.

Today we look back at the past with gratitude, and we are even more aware of the unfinished mission. There are still more goals to be achieved, more honors to be won, and more shared memories to be created.

On behalf of all members of Fenway Sports Group, I would like to express my gratitude to our dear fans. Thank you for your acceptance, thank you for always sticking to your faith through the ups and downs, thank you for your outspoken advice, and thank you for explaining to the world what it means to be a member of Liverpool FC.

You will never walk alone,

John, Tom and Mike
