Real Madrid makes great progress in pursuing Benfica s left-back

Football

As reported earlier today, Real Madrid has made great progress in pursuing Benfica left-back Alvaro Carreras. Having reached personal terms with the player himself and is now on the verge of reaching an agreement with the Portuguese giants.

Carreras has always been a priority target in Real Madrid's left-back position, and refused to give up his pursuit even if he failed to complete the deal as they hoped before the Club World Cup.

According to Italian transfer expert Romano, Real Madrid plans to sign Carreras in a player + cash model. Academic camp left-back Rafa Obrador will transfer to Benfica as part of the deal.

In fact, the 21-year-old youth training camp talent was loaned to La Coruña last season and is now being included in negotiations with Benfica as part of a fixed fee plus player deal.

Romano stressed that the deal had made great progress and the agreement would be finalized in the next few days, when its iconic "Here we go" will be issued again.

Carreras joins Real Madrid and is expected to replace Fran Garcia under Alonso and make Fran Mendy, who is still in injury, more uncertain in the future.

As for the 21-year-old Obrador, the youth training camp talent contract that shined in La Coruña last season will expire in 2027, and has now put the green light on the transfer to Benfica.
