Hupu News on October 18th After leaving Leipzig this summer, Yusuf Poulsen returned to his old club Leipzig with Hamburg on Saturday afternoon local time. The Danish striker received an affectionate tribute from the Leipzig fans before the game ended in a 2-1 defeat.

When Poulsen was sitting on the bench before the game, a grand golden TIFO appeared in the home stands: Leipzig fans depicted Poulsen's image in a golden silhouette and displayed many classic pictures of him during his twelve years at the club. Below the giant banner, a banner read: "You were our heart, and you are still our soul!"

TV cameras captured the moment when Poulsen looked towards the stands with a smile, waved and was deeply moved. He expressed his gratitude to the fans, his eyes full of excitement and nostalgia. Another banner that read "Twelve years of unremitting hard work, thank you for everything you have given, Yusuf!" was also hung in the stands on the other side of the stadium.

In the 76th minute of the game, Poulsen came on as a substitute when the team was 1-2 behind, replacing Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer.

Poulsen joined Leipzig from Denmark in 2013 and accompanied the team from the German third division to the Champions League, becoming one of the most symbolic players in the club's history. Now after moving to Hamburg, he has not yet fully integrated into the new environment due to injury. He has only played for about 50 minutes and is still waiting for a new starting point in the true sense.
