Official: Sevilla signs Chilean striker Sanchez, both sides sign a one-year contract

Hupu September 2nd Sevilla officially announced that the team signed Chilean veteran Sanchez.

Sanchez had terminated his contract with Udinese, so Sevilla did not need to pay his transfer fee.

Seville Football Club and Italy Udinese have reached an agreement on Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez joining Sevilla and sign a season.

Alexis has a brilliant career that only a few players can achieve. He has played for many top clubs. He will come to Nalvion with rich experience and a keen sense of goal. His honors include: La Liga champion, Spanish Copa del Rey, two FA Cups in England, two Serie A championships, two Italian Cups, European Super Cup, Club World Cup and two Copa America championships (Chile), and have made a total of 168 appearances in the national team.

Alexis was born in Tocopia, Chile on December 19, 1988. His career began in Cobrelloa in 2005. He debuted in the Copa Libertadores at a very young age. In 2007, it attracted the attention of Udinese and was loaned to Krokolo, Chile before heading to Europe. After two seasons, he was once again loaned to the Argentine Riverbed and won the 2008 Argentine League championship with the team, and then officially transferred to Udinese, Italy.

He played for Udinese for three seasons, with the most goals in the final season, opening the door for him to join Barcelona in the summer of 2011. In La Liga, he gradually established his identity as a scorer, scoring 46 goals in three years; in the summer of 2014, he joined Arsenal. At the Emirates Stadium, he scored 80 goals in 166 official games in three and a half years. In January 2018, he signed with Manchester United, but a series of injuries hindered his performance at Old Trafford.

In the summer of 2019, he returned to Italy to join Inter Milan on loan. Although he did not reach his best, he stayed in Inter Milan as a formal transfer after the season, scoring 20 goals in three years. In the summer of 2022, he was loaned to Marseille France. He scored 18 goals in 44 games for Marseille and returned to Inter Milan in the 2023-24 season to score 4 more goals. After the contract, Alexis returned to his first club in Europe, Udinese, and now he is in Seville, where he will fight alongside his compatriot Gabriel Suazzo.

In his career, he has scored a total of 165 goals in various clubs, and is also the player with the most appearances in the Chilean national team, scoring 51 goals in 168 games. His national team debut was in a friendly match against New Zealand in 2006, and his most recent appearance was in June this year. He has participated in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and the 2015, 2016 (all won the championship), 2019, 2021 and 2024 Copa America, and has also won the runner-up in the 2017 Federation Cup.
