Marca: The Copa del Rey final collides with the Seville Spring Fair and the Motorcycle Grand Prix and may be rescheduled
On November 20, Marca reported that the Spanish Football Association and the Seville Municipal Government are negotiating on the date of the Copa del Rey final.
This season’s Copa del Rey final, originally scheduled to be held on April 25, coincides with the Spring Fair in Seville. Holding two major events at the same time will cause a series of logistical issues, including challenges in transportation, accommodation and security. Additionally, the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix will be held that weekend, further limiting transport capacity. Therefore, all parties are exploring various solutions and do not rule out the possibility of changing the match date.
For Katuha Stadium, this will be the seventh consecutive championship match in the "knockout" stage. Under the three-year agreement with the Spanish Football Federation, when the agreement expires, Katuha Stadium will host a total of nine consecutive Copa del Rey finals, while Sevilla City will host ten in total (one of which will be at the Benito Villamarin Stadium).
This year’s conflict with the Spring Fair in Seville may change the Spanish Football Federation’s original plans.
