It s too long to be held every four years! British media: Real Madrid proposes to FIFA that the Club World Cup will be held every two years

After the first expanded version of the Club World Cup, La Liga giants Real Madrid have made a big suggestion to FIFA: to change this global club top event from the original planned event to be held every four years to once every two years!

According to the Guardian, this shocking proposal was proposed during Real Madrid's participation in this Club World Cup. Although they lost 0-4 to Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals and performed poorly, Real Madrid is still the absolute protagonist of the box office of this event - they contributed 25% of the ticket sales of the entire event, fully demonstrating the club's huge influence on the global scale.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez bluntly stated that the proposal is a strategic move for the club to increase revenue. Currently, Real Madrid is facing a huge investment of up to 1.2 billion euros to modernize the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Therefore, increasing the frequency of high-commercial-value events like the Club World Cup will undoubtedly help the club increase revenue, balance finances, and alleviate the financial pressure brought by huge investment.

Although there is still uncertainty about whether Real Madrid can participate in the next Club World Cup as scheduled, they still hope that the event will be held more frequently to continuously enhance its global influence and economic returns.

FIFA's attitude is unclear, and the expansion of the army is being planned. As of now, FIFA has not made a formal response to Real Madrid's proposal. However, FIFA is studying the feasibility of expanding participating teams from 32 to 48 in order to further enhance the scale and commercial value of the event. This also seems to indicate that the Club World Cup will move to a larger stage in the future.

The next Club World Cup is expected to be held in 2029, but the specific venue has not yet been determined. At present, Brazil and Qatar have clearly expressed their willingness to apply. In addition, Spain, Morocco and Portugal – co-sponsors of the 2030 World Cup – are also seen as potential candidates, although Portugal has not yet made a formal statement. A fierce competition for the right to host the Club World Cup has begun.

Four teams have secured their place in the 2029 Club World Cup

As of now, only four teams have confirmed their qualifications to participate in the 2029 Club World Cup:

Jeddah Nationals (Saudi): AFC Champions League Blue Cross (Mexico): Central and North America and the Caribbean Champions Paris Saint-Germain (France): Champions League Champions League Pyramid FC (Egypt): African Champions League Champions League Champions League

It is worth mentioning that as the first Club World Cup champion, Chelsea has not yet ensured its qualification to participate in the 2029 event.
