Former Bayern defender Sarr is expected to return to his old club in Ligue 1 and is currently participating in a trial with Metz

Hupu News on November 3: Right back Bouna Sarr's four years at Bayern Munich will end in the summer of 2024. The right back only played 33 times during this period and suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the final stage. The 33-year-old last played for Bayern on November 11, 2023 against Heidenheim (4-2 win).
According to French sports daily L'Equipe, Sarr is expected to train with the Metz club on Tuesday after leaving the team for more than 16 months and not signing with any club. The right-footer is expected to return to Metz if he can prove he is in good physical condition.
Sar spent part of his youth training years in Metz, where he made his Ligue 1 debut. Thereafter, he moved to Marseille and joined Bayern on the transfer deadline in early October 2020. Bayern paid a transfer fee of 8 million euros for him. Since Bayern failed to successfully recruit Ajax's right back Dest (later transferred to Barcelona), Sarr was regarded as a replacement.
After bidding farewell to Bayern, the Senegal international (13 appearances), who was plagued by injuries, has been working hard to maintain his physical fitness. The newly promoted Metz is currently ranked second to last (17th) in Ligue 1 after 11 rounds and is in the relegation zone. Although the team defeated relegation rival Nantes 2-0 away from home last Sunday, the club management is still looking to strengthen the lineup.
It is worth mentioning that Metz is no stranger to the return of old players. If Sal joins, he will continue this tradition. At the end of August this year, forward Habib Diallo (30 years old) returned to Metz as a free agent from the Saudi League after leaving the team for 1,791 days.
