British media: Riyadh Crescent contacts Liverpool CEO Edwards and wants to ask him to lead management reform

Football

May 20th GiveMeSport reported that Riyadh Crescent has contacted Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool Football CEO Michael Edwards and invited him to take up a senior management position in the club.

Currently Edwards is satisfied with the new role, but still shows his willingness to explore potential future cooperation with Chairman Crescent.

According to GMS, Edwards is not actively seeking to leave Fenway this summer, nor does he intend to join other clubs as a sports director. But he is open to dialogue with teams that want to overhaul the sports department, especially those willing to give him autonomy to form executive teams.

Creen Moon's move stems from the ambition to build a top sports management structure. Edwards successfully led the transformation of the sporting architecture under the leadership of Richard Hughes in Liverpool and was responsible for finding new members for Liverpool's multi-club model. He had visited Bordeaux before and is currently paying attention to Malaga.

Crescent Moon hopes that Edwards will serve as the top sports decision maker and work closely with the Chairman and CEO. Although Edwards has not expressed his intention to seek new challenges, the two sides have entered into contact. This shows that, like many clubs, Crescent sees Fenway and Liverpool’s success as a model to follow, and Edwards has become the architect of successful transformation and system construction.
