BBC: Sancho doesn t want to go to Rome now; Chelsea asks George for £25m + second transfer

Sancho is Roma's preferred target for strengthening the front line, but several sources said it was not easy to take him away from Old Trafford.

One problem is that Sancho's £300,000 weekly salary is reportedly a barrier for any club that intends to buy him, and Italian sources also believe he is not keen on transfers to the Serie A club. More complicated is that Manchester United can trigger an option to renew a contract for one year to 2027 to avoid Sancho’s free departure after the loan agreement is reached.

Ultimately, negotiations between the three parties were very complicated, and Sancho's agent Emecca Obasi also worked with Chelsea's George.

The 19-year-old has become a viable option for Roma, and Chelsea is open to selling him. It is reported that George is happy to transfer to Rome, and a source involved in the deal explained that if the important second transfer clause is included, £25 million should be enough to facilitate the transfer.

However, Sancho remains the first choice, and any move to break the deadlock could lead Roma to re-chase the United player.
