Yang Hansen: The pressure on you is indeed very high, but I don’t want to disappoint Chinese fans

Basketball

July 21, Washington Post reporter Ben Golliver wrote an article in detail about the Chinese player Yang Hansen who entered the NBA through the draft this year.

The article states: Yang Hansen is another Chinese player selected by the NBA in the first round after Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian. Yao Ming was inducted into the Hall of Fame, but his career was interrupted by injuries after eight seasons. Yi Jianlian played for four teams in his five-year NBA career. The Chinese men's basketball team failed to participate in the last two Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris.

Yang Hansen recalled that when he was a child, he would sit in front of the TV and watch Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian play, dreaming that one day he would represent the Chinese men's basketball team in the Olympics.

Yang Hansen said: "The pressure is indeed very high, but I want Chinese fans to see that I did it. Before going to the United States, Yao Ming called me and shared some of his experiences. He told me to eat, drink, sleep and play. Yao Ming is a role model in the Chinese basketball world, and he is very special. I am just a rookie, and I can feel people's expectations and expectations for me. Yao Ming is at the top of the palace, and compared with him, I am just the cold ash in the pot."
