Tripartite transactions help the Mavericks rebuild around Flag

Dallas shocked the NBA world by winning the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Unless a large-scale deal is conducted, it is expected to open a new era by choosing Duke’s outstanding Cooper Flag at the first pick. Earlier this season, they made a puzzling move to trade Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Davis. The list is still built primarily around Doncic, and if Dallas wants to move around Flag, it needs to make changes.

This deal adds a mature, healthy point guard in Dallas while strengthening their offense with Hilder, the Warriors form the championship-level starting fives for Curry, Sister Po, Butler, Green and Vucevic, who should be able to adapt well to Green. Meanwhile, the Bulls added two young players, Moody and Williams, a defensive pick-and-roller and a first-round draft pick-and-roller. If all goes well for the Golden State Warriors, 2027 will be their final season in their battle for the championship, and this draft pick should be conveyed. The result of this transaction is very simple. The Warriors lacked paint in the playoffs and were snatched 51 rebounds in their first round against the Rockets. Vucevic is a double-double machine, and he doesn't have to fill up the paint area when attacking, allowing Green and Butler to play near the basket.
