Isaiah Canan, a strong short point guard

Basketball

Do you still remember Isaiah Cannan later? The strong No. 0 short point guard selected by Yao Ming in the Rockets.

Isaiah Canaan, 6 feet (183 cm) tall, plays as a point guard (PG). He was born in May 1991 in the peninsula city of Biloxi in southeastern Mississippi, USA. He was produced by Murray State University. He was selected by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft. He played for six teams, namely the Rockets, 76ers, Bulls, Suns, Timberwolves and Bucks.

Isaiah Cannan has excellent physical fitness. Although he is not tall, he is full of strength and speed. He has strong confrontational ability. He can fight against defensive players better when breaking through. He runs actively without the ball. He can find open opportunities through active running, create shooting space for himself, and open up attack space for his teammates, disrupt the opponent's defensive deployment. He has resilience in defense and has strong scoring ability. He has strong ability to create shooting opportunities after dribbling. He is also very skilled in receiving and shooting. He is also good at using pick-and-roll to get mobile phone opportunities. He also has a certain lethality in one-handed throwing under the basket.

As a point guard, Cannan has insufficient organizational ability and prefers to be a scoring point guard. He lacks the field of field vision that should be available at the NBA level. Sometimes he is too persistent in scoring, his passing awareness and ability need to be improved, his shooting stability is poor, his scoring fluctuates greatly, he has a highlight performance of 8 three-pointers in a single game, and many games have low shooting percentages. He is poorly controlled for fouls, and is limited by height. Cannan's performance on the defensive end is very difficult. Whether it is interference in shooting or rebounding, he is easily at a disadvantage. When he breaks through to the basket on the offensive end, he is also easily blocked. In his six-year NBA career, Isaiah Cannan played 235 games in the regular season, including 77 starts, averaging 20.4 minutes per game, scoring 8.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.1 blocks. In the playoffs, they played 3 games in 2 starts, averaging 31.7 minutes per game, scoring 11.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals. Although the data doesn't seem to be much, his physical condition and technical characteristics mean that he can only be a struggling little person, but he also has some outstanding highlights.

On March 4, 2015, local time in the United States, in the Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 118:123 away game, Isaiah Cannan started for 42 minutes, making 10 of 16 shots (including 8 of 13 three-pointers), and making 3 free throws, scoring the highest single-game 31 points and 7 rebounds in NBA career, plus 6 assists and 1 steal.
