Details of Jordan s participation in NBA broadcasts exposed: regular section to share opinions, presented in recorded clips

On October 21, NBC gave fans a clearer understanding of Michael Jordan’s specific role in the station’s return plan for NBA game broadcasts. NBC aired a trailer to build momentum for the season-opening doubleheader on Oct. 22, which included footage of Mike Tirico interviewing the Hall of Famer.

Subsequently, NBC officially confirmed that the 62-year-old Jordan will participate in a permanent segment called "MJ: Outstanding Insights", which will debut in the opening game. A portion of the first episode will air during halftime of Tuesday's Rockets-Thunder game.

NBC stated that this section will run throughout the season, in which Jordan will share his views on the game and players. This is the first time he has officially participated in the broadcast of an NBA game since retiring as a player twenty years ago.

According to reporter Alex Sherman, Jordan's content will mainly be presented in the form of recorded clips, which will be broadcast during the pregame show or halftime show.

No matter how long the exposure is, his appearance will attract a lot of attention. As a legend who has basically kept a low profile after retiring, this participation is a rare public voice for him, allowing the outside world to gain his unique insights into basketball.

Jordan has never been a TV host, but considering he was pretty much the face of NBC's basketball coverage during his dynasty with the Chicago Bulls in the '90s, a partnership with NBC would make sense.

However, the content of the series is unclear. Will Jordan actually analyze game tape of today's stars, as the late Kobe Bryant did on ESPN's "Details" series, or will he simply rehash Jordan's legacy and the "keys" to his success throughout his career?

US media believes that if this was just similar to "The Last Dance", interspersed with clips of Jordan's glory days and his insights on what it takes to become "great", it might not be so attractive. Still, getting Jordan to sit down for any basketball-related interview is no small feat. So even just him talking about his playing days is sure to entertain fans.
