Are the Clippers, Rockets and Hornets planning a three-party deal? Lamelo Ball is partnering with Harden?
After the Clippers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, the boss Ballmer learned from his mistakes. In an interview with the media, he said that he did not care about paying high luxury taxes, as long as he could win the NBA championship. The support of boss Ballmer provides guarantees for general manager Rayden. The Clippers management no longer makes small fuss, but instead puts the hope of strengthening on All-Star guard Lamelo Ball and two-time champion backcourt Ju Holiday. Of course, this does not mean that Harden is about to leave. His contract renewal negotiations with the Clippers are progressing smoothly, and there is no reason for the two sides to part ways. The strength of the Clippers' lineup cannot be underestimated. Head coach Tyron Lu has made it clear that he has built a championship lineup around Leonard and Harden, and the addition of another star will have a more positive impact.
Recently, the US media "NBA Analysis Network" suggested that the Clippers management pursues La Melo Ball, the Hornets star, in the offseason this summer, thereby alleviating the pressure on organizational tandem on Harden and attracting offensive firepower for Leonard. The media provided a three-party trading offer to the Clippers and Hornets. The Rockets participated as a third party. If the negotiations go smoothly, Powell is expected to go to Houston to assist Jaylen Green. The specific trading plan is;
1. The Clippers sent Norman Powell + Bogdan Bogdanovic + Chris Dunn + the first round pick of the Clippers in 2031 to get Lamero Ball;
2. The Rockets sent Reed Shepard + Jock Landale + the first round pick of the Suns in 2025 (10th pick) to get Norman Powell;
3. The Hornets sent Lamero Ball to get Reed Shepard + Jock Landale + Bogdan Bogdanovic + Chris Dunn + 2025 to get Lamero Ball to get Reed Shepard + Jock Landale + Bogdan Bogdanovic + Chris Dunn + 2025 to get Lamero Ball to get Reed Shepard + 2031 to get Lamero Ball to get Reed Shepard + Jock Landale + Bogdan Bogdanovic + Chris Dunn + 2025 to get Lamero Ball to get Reed Shepard + 2031 to get Bogdanovic.
LaMelo Ball is 23 years old this year. He averaged 32 minutes per game this season, contributing 25.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.1 steals. He has top-notch control skills and excellent organizational tandem skills, but because he has attended less than 50% of the games in the last three seasons, the Hornets management has developed the idea of trading Ball to correct Brandon Miller. Ball’s disadvantage is that his figure is too thin and he is prone to injury under intense physical confrontation. But his injured parts are mainly concentrated in the ankles, and there are no serious problems with his knees and Achilles tendons, so they will not affect his future. There is no doubt that Ball's addition can free Harden and allow him to spend more energy on the final moments of the game, rather than insufficient stamina due to exhaustion of physical strength.
Lamero Ball has cancelled the Hornets' official account, which almost indicates his departure. Ball's playing style is very similar to Halliburton, who shines in the playoffs and is likely to help the Pacers reach the finals, which indirectly builds up strong self-confidence for Ball. The Rockets management has a long history of interest in Powell. He can provide coach Uduka with sufficient offensive firepower. This season, he averaged 21.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists in averaging 32.6 minutes of playing time, and his three-point shooting percentage is as high as 41.8%. Compared with Jaylen Green, who is often good and bad, Powell has more experience in major competitions and plays more stably. More importantly, Powell and VanVleet were teammates for three years during the Raptors, and they appreciated each other and had no need to re-train their tacit understanding.
